Generac iX2000 iX Series 2,000 Watt Portable Inverter Generator

About this product

Product Information

For reliable power performance, the Generac iX2000 generator is tried and true. The Generac iX2000 produces 2000 running watts and 2200 starting watts of clean and stable power. Designed with a special electronic microprocessor, it also has a conventional tank that can store 3.10 liters of fuel. With 25 percent load, this generator runs for 4.7 hours when fully charged. It is designed to be safe to use for powering computers, smartphones, and other sensitive appliances. The advanced electronic circuit breakers of this Generac inverter help prevent overload. The low oil shutdown feature automatically switches off the power to prevent any damage. The generator's FlexPower technology makes this an environmentally-friendly machine. It allows energy-saving technologies and lowered noise for quiet operation. Moreover, the user-friendly control panel with indicator lights makes it a practical choice for both indoor and outdoor environments. The portable and lightweight design allows users to move it easily. Operated by pull start handle, it features two 5-20R outlets and a 2-volt battery charging outlet. The longevity of the 2200-watt model is enhanced by low iron shutdown and cast iron cylinders. In fact, it is very useful for functions and gatherings because full enclosure drastically reduces sound levels. This Generac inverter has been awarded the prestigious Handyman Member Tested and Recommended Seal. After evaluation from Good Housekeeping Research Institute, the gasoline-powered generator also earned the Good Housekeeping Seal. These awards suggest consistent safety and reliability. For easy maintenance, there is an hour meter and a convenient fuel gauge to see whether additional gasoline is needed. Similarly, all the control panels are located in an easily accessible location and are brightly lit. The extra-thick frame is made from hardened steel, making these generators very sturdy. To protect against damage from mishap, the 2200-watt generator uses integrated brackets and impact resistant corners. For power generation, the Generac uses an industrial grade OHVI engine. Dual elements filters are used to increase operational life. This protects the engine from dust particles in tough working conditions.Because generators are built for continuous use, this model is specifically engineered using overhead valve technology. The technology is designed to use energy efficiently and run at a cool temperature. In fact, it has the same pressurized lubrication system that is used in automobiles for long-term trouble-free life. This type of pressurized lubrication system keeps components working smoothly. It pumps oil to every engine bearing at greater angles of operation. The auto-protection system automatically shuts down the generator when oil level is low. The system can also check heating and low viscosity. Also noteworthy is an electric inverter that helps the Generac iX2000 convert DC to AC current. A computerized module controls fuel injection relative to electricity demand. Such electronics ensure that operational speed and noise are reduced significantly. This generator is practical for outdoor and camping use due to its portable design and bearable noise level. You can either use it on eco mode or high mode depending on the load level. Additional features, such as overload protection, status lights, and low-oil shutdown makes it an outstanding choice for a safety-conscious consumer.

    Compact and quiet

I am so impressed with this unit. it so quiet that you can still carry on a conversation when it's running. I was worried that 2000 watts would not run very much but after I got to test it by plugging in three motor loads my 6" bench grinder and then my 10 gallon shop vac and then A Worx tree branch chain saw and after that I plugged in some lights it was still running smooth and effortlessly. This was also a great price even thou it was a recondition unit it looked like new. It was shipped in the factory box and did not have a scratch on it. All so Generac has released their new model 2000 watt unit with a electronic led fuel gauge which is nice but not worth the extra money there asking and the unit is downgraded to only 1800 watts running not a full 2000 watts running and the old model starts 2200 watts. I would have given it 5 stars but I'm not sure that it has a compression release design in it because when I was trying to start the little guy I had to hold the unit tightly so that it would not scoot around on the compression stroke when I was pulling the cord.

    need work

filled with gas and ran it for 30 minutes, runs great but when I shut the gas off it poured out the bottom of the housing. wanted to send back but was told since I put gas in it I couldn't return it. told it was under warranty and to call generac to take to a service center, was told 2 in my town but when I took it in they said that they don't do repairs on it. next place 70 miles away and reviews warned of 3 month to get repairs done. took to local shop in my town for repair, cheaper than dropping off and another trip pick up to get fixed under warranty. carburetor needed cleaned, buy at Loews that way if you have a problem you can return it, no savings buying here on eBay.

  • Strong performer for a little guy

I have 5 generators of various sizes for our off-grid ranch. I intended this one for small loads, but tend to grab it more often since it is so portable. I was surprised when it handled my air compressor OK. It takes turn-on surges well. It claims to be refurbished, but I doubt it was ever used. Two small complaints: the cord pulls hard and, when pouring gas in it, it is hard to tell the tank is getting full until it overflows. But this bugger is likely to be my favorite generator of the five I own.

  • A replacement for my Honda

After fifteen years of traveling all over the USA I sold my fifth wheel rig and let my little Honda 2000i go with it. It too was 15 years old but still ran good and did the job when boone docking or stopping for a quick snack or nap! But living in rural Alabama - the middle of tornado alley - being without some form of back up power is a crap shoot. I saw this unit and refurb deal here on Ebay and could not resist the urge to give it it a try. While I liked the Honda, at $450 - it was hard to justify the more costly Honda (2X) - for occasional use. The unit came the next day Fedx. Opening the obvious factory carton, the unit looked new - the only evidence it was not new was a note on the face of the owners manual, indicating that the warranty card had been mailed in Feb of 2015. Everything thing else suggested it had never been unpacked. There were a couple of nice touches (not included with the Honda btw) - 600ml of engine oil (the correct amount for the engine), a funnel designed for filling the engine and a tool kit for maintenance (universal screw driver - spark plug wrench - 12 vdc power cord). I read thru the instruction manual (not Chinglish) - filled the engine with oil - added fresh fuel - checked for leaks - and fired her up. The unit includes some operational functions that the Honda did not - a fuel primer bulb, indicators LED's on the panel, larger fuel filler with a self sealing fuel vent. The Generac is slightly larger than the Honda and weights a few lbs more empty (as well as fueled). Choke on and primer cycled until I felt a slight back pressure, the unit started on the fifth pull. Choke to mid point till she warmed up a bit, then off, the engine ran smoothly and quietly - maybe a db more than the Honda but hardly noticeable. The eco throttle system worked as expected and all output voltages were within spec. Obviously I haven't had time to fully evaluate the little Generac but my first impressions are positive. For the price, if it holds thru the warranty period, it will exceed my expectations. I will follow up in a few months with "field trials" - keep your fingers crossed!!

  • Generac iX2000 Review

I already own a Generac 20KW for my house for those times when we do not have electricity available, so purchase of this little light weight Generator was a no brainer for me. It has already come in very handy. I had trouble working on my Skid Steer getting the bolts out to tilt the raidiator back to get to a settlement bowl for maintenance. I hauled the Generac down to my Skid Steer, cranked her up, plugged in my Earth Quake electric Impact Tool and began removing those troublesome bolts. The Generac came with 20 ounces of oil which is perfect for the crank case, and I had bought some Gasoline with no Ethenol, so all I have to add for storage is Stabil. The Generator is easy to operate and cranked on the third pull for the first time to start it. Therafter, after it gets warm, it will crank on the first pull. It is reliable as any Honda Generator that I have seen, except a little more quiet. Great Product!

  • Compact and easy to use.

Haven't actually needed it yet for its intended use as an emergency power source but have run it several times and used it for portable electrical power. Starts easy and for a small unit, has adequate features and outlets.

  • Generic Power!!!

This was a no-brainer!! I pulled it out of the box, read the instructions, put in the oil that came with it, and Waahlaa 1 pull after I primed it and it was running! It is very quiet for a 2000 watt inverter! My brother has a Honda 2000 inverter and mine is both quieter and will run my 1500 watt microwave and his overloads!!! It has a pretty good size gas tank and is ready to power our camper off grid! Thanks for the great deal!!!!

  • Top Notch Supplier and Great Service on Products

The Generac is a Cool and Convenient Product. It utility, portability and fuel efficiency makes it perfect for most situations. A large generator in terms of decibel outputs and fuel consumption rate is simply not necessary. I recommend this type of unit in an disaster recovery environment.

  • Generac ix 2000 reconditioned

I am not sure that I would recommend this product. I have been a Power support generator technician for over 32 years so I know generators. I would pay the extra money and buy the Honda inverter generator over this one as it is much smoother and quieter. This one is also very hard to start and it does t run smooth unless it has a good load on it. Mine takes 7 pulls to start. Economy is good though. For the price it's ok for what it is.

  • Works Well, but Hard to Start

I set it up as required (filled oil and added fresh gasoline), turned on gas, choked and primed it, but it took at least a dozen pulls on the cord to start it the first time. I blamed it on being the first start, but when I tried again, it exhibited the same behavior. Every other time since (maybe 6 -8 times), I have had the same problem. Once it is running it works very well. I have used it in a system that required a motor to turn on and off every 8-10 seconds (drawing 15A on startup, 5.5A running). It responded well to the task which lasted for about 2 hours. I believe I'll contact Generac to find out if this can be corrected.
