This thing is RIDICULOUSLY BURLY. Easily the toughest tripod I've ever owned. Unless you're going to be supporting a heavy camera setup, a slider, or a jib, you probably won't be taking full advantage of the 536. If you're shooting on a DSLR, or a small camcorder, this will be absurd overkill. Each leg is about 2" in diamter. It is ROCK SOLID. The height range is insane. It's about 8 feet tall at full extension, and about 10 inches off the ground at it's lowest, and feels unbelievably stable. No wobbling, no torsion, no nothin'. I extended it in my living room upon arrival and did pull-ups from it. I'm not kidding. It's a TANK. I bought this to support a 3' slider, without needing two tripods at either end to keep it from bowing, and it's done the trick. It will also be supporting a Pocket Jib, and it looks like it will handle that with no problems as well. It's definitely not the lightest tripod in the world, and lugging it around on adventure shoots is probably going to whoop my lazy butt into shape, but I think it will be more than worth it to have a shooting platform that I'm 100% confident in. REALLY nice tripod legs!Read full review
