Continuing in Mesa's tradition of innovation, the dual rectifier amplifier offers three different channels and a unique multi-watt power system. The system allows every channel to be independently set at 50 or 100 watts. Each channel has different modes and can be toggled for an incredible breadth of voicings. The voicings range from clean and modern gains to earthy and raw timbres. The Bold/Spongy Variac Switch allows you to further tweak the music and get massive sound effects. The amp offers an amazing range overall, and it can be cranked up to 100 watts. The Mesa Boogie guitar amp is engineered exclusively for high-voltage performers looking to get it all in one device.Taking in the front view of the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier amp head, you can see an array of controls, including the power and standby switches. There are two rows of knobs that control two different channels. These affect various features such as master volume, presence, bass, mid, treble, and gain settings. The gain setting goes from a clean, unsaturated, and bright effect to an overdriven, saturated, and warm tone. The EQ parameters give you a masterful ability to shape your tone however you like. The Loop Active Master knob works with the effects loop on the back of the amp. There are also two inputs that both accept standard quarter-inch cables. One is labeled “Input” while the other is labeled “FT. SW”. The latter can be used with a footswitch to switch between the Lead and Rhythm channels.There are ohm inputs on the back of the Mesa/Boogie Dual or Triple Rectifier amp head. The 4-, 8-, or 16-ohm inputs help you perfectly match the impedance with almost any external speaker cabinet. You can switch between a Spongy or Bold power selection to a Vacuum Tube or Silicon Diode rectifier selection. The bias switch lets you pick between the 6L6 or the EL34 tubes. There are also send and return inputs with two mixing controls next to a loop select for the perfect channel combinations. These combinations include Vintage/Orange and Modern/Red. The slave control can connect to an external speaker or work as a master preamp. You can pick from vintage, modern tones, variable high gain, or clean. The various tones allow you to perfectly craft the sound you want.These Mesa/Boogie amps work hard and are designed for high-powered situations. They can connect to all kinds of different speakers, including 1x12, 2x12, or 8x10 cabinets. They even connect to other combo amps. They can also function effectively with all kinds of different pedals, guitars, or other instruments. There are other accessories and pieces of gear to consider. These include a footswitch, a Mesa case for the head, different lengths of quarter-inch instrument cables, and backup tubes. These Boogie amplifiers can deliver incredible energy and tones. Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Maverick
This amp is everything I hoped it would be. The rhythm channel has a surprising amount of head room which breaks up nicely when you dial in more gain. The lead channel starts out dirty and gritty at about 25% and really starts to grind at about 75%. With 11 (6 pre amp, 4 power and 1 rectifier) tubes it actually helps warm the house a little. 4 Jensen alnico speakers which don't seem capable of making a bad sound. I have to admit this is probably my favorite amp of all time (I've been playing guitar for 40 years). This Amp Head!
This is a BEAST! It sounds marvelous! It's compact, balanced, and beautiful to look at. I see no limitations with this "Slaya' from the Himalaya". In my opinion it's the best of the best. What would be nice would be a nice ventilated cover for the back to protect the valves. Other than that this is a perfect amplifier for all genres of musical styles. I recommend it for the musician who wants and needs an amp that can effortlessly do it all. This is the beauty and the beast
Sure it's not cheap but it's like you're getting three really good amps in one. Channel 3 and 4 pretty much just have different gain levels but you still have the possibility of having them voiced differently. Very good amp! But for getting original great sound need use original mesa boogie tubes. In my opinion and in my hearing other tubes change the sound so mush!!! I get my dual rectify with all not original tubes and it one issue of my amp. Now I change all pre-amp tubes (5 tubes 12ax7) to original mesa bogies tubes and sound already change so mush!
