A very good buy!
This UV filter is just what the doctor ordered to protect your valuable lens. Digital cameras are not as susceptible to UV as film was. However, if you look close you can see the befits. The main reason for using this filter is to protect the lens without it affecting the lens performance. Well Ive only had a chance to shoot this once but the results we're excellent. I have one of them on an older 35-135 3.5 nikkor with macro. Very heavy lens but I like them that way. The hoya filter also has another plus beside shooting great, the threads are nice and deep so I don't have to worry about losing a hood or the next filter or whatever I want to screw into it from my macro gear. I actually screwed up because I needed a couple 72's and 82's and a 67 and77 so I guess when I get a couple bucks I'll get right to you. I have to shoot a car show tomorrow through Sunday and it's a rough environment on my gear. On the boardwalk in the windy salty sea spooge and 2 lenses I'm using are new. Yuck! A good investment to protect your lenses
This is a cost-effect way of protecting the front element of your lenses, even when in use. It also helps reduce UV-caused haze in daytime outdoor landscape photos. While it does not offer anti-reflection coating as durable or anti-collision protection as strong as Hoya's HD3 or HD filters, it offers useful coating and protection at a a fraction of the price, and is superior to non-multicoated filters.
