    Nice processor for AM3 system

Great CPU for the money. Six Phenom cores is still fine for everyday use, and maxes out what I can do with my AM3 system whilst keeping to reasonable power consumption (95W). It sped my system up considerably so it is a lot more responsive than before when I was using my old Athlon ii x4. I also undervolted it a lot so the cores run at just over 22 degrees C at idle, but it still manages to stay stable under full load on Prime95, so it's actually quite a frugal beast!

    Potentially working CPU

When I purchased it and my first time installing, the type of AMD motherboard I read an error message at the bottom of the screen in POST (Power-On-Self-Test) that the CPU was a mismatch and in order to use it, I must update the BIOS/update the system entirely-buy a brand new motherboard that supports DDR3 RAM-UNBUFFERED NON-ECC and the phenom II x6 1055t processor, then, boot in UEFI mode, if possible.

  • Good CPU for AM3 upgrade

Great upgrade for my AM3 system that will be repurposed for full time rendering. Performs well with AIO water cooler. There were some conflicting info in the description, one place mentions fan and heatsink included and later it say OEM tray. There is no fan/heatsink but you can get a nice aftermarket solution like Hyper 212 or something and it will perform well.

  • The Loyal Phenom II Hexa-Core

A hexa-core CPU clocked @ 2.8 GHz is very fast, powerful and can handle any PC payload. Pair it with a RX 480 and your set for gaming, streaming, video editing or any other heavy resource tasks. I have not made the attempt to overclock just yet, I have been very impressed with the overall speed as is.

  • A great upgrade from the quad core athlon II CPU.

Have an older PC from 2009 and this cpu is a great replacement. The coard I got it on has overclocking features and this cpu can get to almost 4 GHz with ease. It's a good choice for an older PC and some light gaming.

  • the last upgrade for my old AM3-system

This CPU was the best option as a final upgrade of my system; Asus M4A785TD-M evo in an Antec nsk-1380. I was considering the highest spec 95W TDP processor, which is the 1065t. However the BIOS/FW didn't comply so the 1055t was the second best and final choice. Due to limited space in the Antec-chassis I picked-up another oldie; the Big Shuriken from Scythe :) It performs well together with a MSI GTX1050ti (low profile) .. 3dmark/skydiver yields ~5600 (CPU/physics-tests)

  • Easy install, works fine

Simply replaced the old Athlon X4 CPU with the Phenom X6 with new heat conduction paste, put it back together and ran a set of new benchmarks. I found better performance in all test. Very satisfied. My old home-made computer is still good to use.

  • Phenom II X6 1055T (95W) was a simple drop-in replacement for my Athlon II X3 435

This was a great way to literally double the speed of my very old Windows 10 PC. I had noticed the user interface starting to lag a bit with my Athlon II X3 435, and things like activating a software menu would cause video playback to lag briefly. It wasn't the end of the world, but it was annoying nonetheless. Putting in the Phenom II X6 1055T eliminated those lags, and added pep overall to the UI. Before with the Athlon II X3 it was actually fairly decent, but now it's noticeably better. Plus, the chip auto down clocks to 800 MHz when idle without my having to turn on AMD's Cool'n'Quiet in the BIOS. CnQ caused me problems with certain software, but the 1055T's version that is integral to the CPU works better and doesn't cause those performance problems. Furthermore my machine still runs quiet, and I suspect actually runs cooler than before (because of the lower core voltage and the auto down clocking to 800 MHz). It was a literally just a drop in CPU replacement for my machine. Be aware though that my BIOS already supported 6-core CPUs. Some motherboards won't support this CPU, or will support it but only after a BIOS update. I specifically chose this version of the 1055T with the 95 Watt TDP because that's the same TDP as my old CPU. Many of the 1055T chips out there for sale are the 125 Watt version. Not only does that version use more power, it is also less compatible with many motherboards because of the higher TDP.

  • Great upgrade for older motherboards

I had an older dual core 3.1ghz AMD processor in an older motherboard from 2009 that I use as a server for house computing. Recently, I started backing up videos discs and doing some transcoding of files. The computer struggled processing a single HD movie in under 6 hours with average fps around 6 or 7. I switched out the processer with this one and saw a 3-4 x improvement in speed. No regrets.

  • Awesome CPU

I got this CPU as an upgrade to my motherboard. Unfortunately for me my motherboard died, but the replacement board is now my weakest link. I have yet to use more than 30% of the 6 cores on this cpu. I am very satisfied with this CPU
