With a 4 core 2.5 Ghz CPU you are getting good performance though its nothing spectacular. Some games are starting to require a bit more but it should still run 90% of whats out there. However Heat and Power consumption are great. The system I have installed this now draws .3 Amps from the wall at idle..which is ok..but under 100% load it will not go above .5 Amps. The main advantage is a very small improvement over most other CPUs at idle but its UNDER LOAD power draw is pretty good. Heat is pretty good. I have currently installed a Heatsink and fan designed to cool cpu's with 125 TDP. At 100% load the CPU will touch as high as 51C. Out of curiousity I took the fan part off and just ran with the heatsink. Was able to Idle at 57 C but any kind of load would start pushing the CPU above 60. The maximum heat recommended for this CPU is 72 C but you should probably not exceed 62 on a daily basis if you want it to last long. However, this CPU is able to run safely at low fan speeds and would be an ideal option for pairing it with a cooling solution designed for completely silent / passive operation (Like a CR-80EH or something). I am almost perfectly satisfied with it. Would be nice to have a LITTLE more power...but it was over double the cost for a 620e...I cannot complain for this CPU only being about $30 US.Read full review

Works great as a replacement for a Phenom X3 8650. It's faster and saves about 50 watts of power. Windows 7 recognizes the extra core and automatically sets up to use it.
