This sequel to 2009's Dragon Age follows the rise of a penniless refugee named Hawke as he (or she, depending on the gender you choose when starting the game) gains fame and fortune by undertaking a number of heroic or potentially ruthless acts over the course of ten years. Scarred by the destruction of his home, Hawke will join forces with a number of colorful characters to defeat the darkspawn infesting the land. The storytelling is notable for adopting a frame narrative structure, with a narrator recounting Hawke's achievements with varying levels of authenticity.<br><br>Your decisions will ultimately help shape Hawke's future, starting with his skills as a mage, rogue, or warrior, and influence the narrator's story. Hawke can enlist the help of three companions during the game, and as in the original Dragon Age, characters will converse with each other and some can even be romanced. Additional combat mechanics have been incorporated into the battle phase, and a new visual style is included to enhance the third-person RPG's presentation. The principal setting for the game is Kirkwall, a region surrounded by mountains and home to corrupt politics, shantytowns, and other surprises.<br><br>The Signature Edition of Dragon Age II includes several bonuses apart from the game. You'll receive a war hound pet that can be summoned into battle, access to a secret underground magic and crafting shop, and the following in-game items for your character: the Lion of Orlais shield, the Fadeshear sword, and the Mirror of Transformation. The latter item lets you freely customize your character's appearance simply by gazing into its reflection. Fantastic Game (especially if u get the signature edition)
I know many fans of the series don't care for DAII; however, this RPG is fantastic for HUD, plot, and dialogue. Yes, it reuses platforms; however, it's challenging and fun. I love the character development and all the things that make RPG's fun. Since it's BioWare you also have the option of following romance options, and most character love interests are bisexual. I personally enjoy playing a Fem/ Hawke that's lesbian. Though I've played played a gay male too. Given all the hate toward the LGBT community in other countries, I find this freeing and fun. No one cares if your gay, they don't like you if you're an elf or a mage... The dialogue and cut scenes are great when triggered. Though KOTOR started it all for me, this is my popcorn favorite. I enjoy the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series. Goodies and oldies like Jade Empire. Current Series like Witcher.
