The diameter of this boot was not the same as the dia of car's mating part. Squeezing down on it by tightening process per installation is probably enough of a seal but would like to have seen it fit exactly into the mating ring of the original tie rod end. The listed the hex design as compatible with 65 Comet but I had to grind off the hex in hopes it would spread out to slip into the round dia mating part it was to seal
