I havent been able to use it enough to really write this review. But for the one time I have it worked well.I hope to not have any troubles with it as it seems to be everything I hoped for.Which is a good quality and adjustable heat iron.Built into a nice workable station.Since we were not born with but two arms and sets of hands. That make soldering a real problem for many of us.I typically use a small butane torch.Which works great for the bulk of my soldering But not smaller and tight areas that certain soldering tasks ask for.

When first plugged in this soldering iron smoked like a sieve. It smelt like burning plastic.. Not a good start. 2nd, it doesn't fit the standard soldering tips. You're stuck with the fat tip it comes with. If you take out the tip it comes with, and manage to put a standard tip in it (just to get the job done), you will never get your tip back out. Just leave it in there, because you will destroy the iron trying to remove a standard tip from it. Then, after I finally get the standard tip out of it, I place the original tip back in. It's fully inserted, too deep without a working setscrew. I'm trying to decided how I'm going to drill out the broken off setscrew inside. I go to touch/remove the inserted tip from iron and I get shocked.. Yea, my fault for leaving it plugged in.. But really, the device was powered off at the switch. I shouldn't really be getting shocked. No, I would not buy again... No, I would not really recommend this unless you do very simple soldering and don't mind the smell of burnt plastic. The smell goes away after about 10 minutes. Leave the original tip in. Don't mess with it. Is it good quality? At least with the model that I received, not even close. Oh, and the soldering iron melts the plastic around the iron's mount/stand when you have it placed within the stand while working with the iron hot.Read full review

When looking for soldering tools I look for Wattage and Temperature control Heat up time ESD safe design Cost of soldering tips I really like this station, it is compact, has a solder spool holder, tip cleaner and sponge tray with a footprint that is roughly the same as my Weller (WES51) not including its iron stand. The temperature range is from 200-480c or 392-896f. It has a nice display and you can set the temperature and switch between centigrade and Fahrenheit. My Weller has a dial to set the temperature but it is Fahrenheit only, it works great just no digital display but some newer models have this. This one is rated to 75 watts compared to 50 on my Weller which is more than enough for most applications. The wait time for this iron to reach temperature is not long and it maintains temperature even when working close to heat sinks. This station is ESD safe and it wont transfer a charge to the device you are working on. The tips for this soldering station are roughly 3.50 each (3 for 10 bucks) or 30 bucks for a 9 piece assortment (25-50% cheaper than my Weller), I did not find them here but the vendor has them on his site The only drawbacks I can see even though they are minimal is the station is fairly light but as soon as I had the solder roll on it it didn’t move, the iron is not detachable but it is not difficult to change the element if needed. Over all I see this as a more that adequate replacement for my Weller at less than half the price.Read full review

I have been using this iron for the last 21 days and everything seemed to be working fine, but when I turned it on this morning it would not heat up. I could hold it in my hand no matter what temp it was set to. When I first opened, I found the heating element was bent but not broken. I have used 4 of the different tips and they worked great although the iron is advertised as a 75w, once you read the manual, you find that it is actually only 65w with a 10w power supply. The unit is very light and tends to move around as you are working. I not sure what the roller on the left side is for and it was not defined in the manual, plus it keep coming out if the supports when the unit was jostled. I was hoping for an iron that would provide a lot of heat, but this iron just doesn't have the muscle. I was disappointed. Read full review

I would totally recommend this soldering unit. It heats fast, and does a fantastic job. I have used other ones but this is the only one I would recommend to my friends. Keep up the great work!
