This knife is really awesome, one of the best Cold Steel knives I’ve owned. This may be a folder, but don’t let that deceive you as this knife can handle some big tasks usually meant for fixed blade knives. For instance you can baton with this, it’s really, really tough. And the handle is really thick, it’s a sturdy knife for a folder and it has some weight to it. I’m curious to what the limit is with this knife, but it’s G10 steel on a folding knife, that’s pretty rare by itself. I highly suggest getting this knife, it’s a close second to the 4-Max, if not a little more pocket friendly and not quite as bulky as the 4-Max.

This is one of the best folding knives on the planet. For one-handed opening, you can use gravity and the weight of the blade itself by flicking your wrist in a fast motion. very few folding knives are capable of this. As for the Tri-Ad lock, it is almost indestructible, making this folding knife as sturdy as a fixed blade knife.

Good robust knife with excellent handle grip. No play between blade and handle. Some attention to detail could be better, although this is aesthetic rather than operational.

I always take a fixed blade to woods and always have a second knife(Buck 110) but it too is on my belt. The SR1 is great because it’s blade is the same thickness as my fixed blade AND it has a pocket clip and it is a SOLID knife. Great knife!

Heavy duty EDC. Been carrying for a few weeks and it's very comfortable. If it's too heavy for you, you need to run home and get a hug. Go play a video game or some such. This thang don't take no mess!
