I have had one of these for over five years, You do have to replace the print head if you make a lot of photos. However, with the industry the way it is now, It was cheaper to actually buy an old unit and use my cartages up this last time! However, once you use it, it is a great unit to keep using! Handy and very useful!

Like: fast printing speeds, 4 features (fax, copy, scan, print), flat bed and top load scanner Dislike: can not turn off power save feature which causes connection errors This printer has done everything that it was expected to do. The only problems I have had were connection issues to the wifi because once it goes to power save you have to turn the printer back on again in order to print. So if it is somewhere remote that becomes a problem. I was also having problems with the print head because all the ink cartridges use the 1 print head and if it becomes clogged cleaning it becomes kind of a hassle. Other than that it is a great printer. The only thing I would like is if I did not "have" to buy Dell ink since it is a Dell printer. I'm a new college graduate so having the ability to fax from the printer is a major plus. I recommend it.Read full review
I have a dell laptop & this printer was a great addition to my computer. It worked great in the beginning & then it lost wifi connection one day & weeks of trying different things finally fixed it. Not really sure what I ended up doing to fix it but I did eventually? I believe it was a problem with my modem & passcode being unsecured then switched it to secured? Anyway, I do love this printer because I can print from anywhere in the house via wifi. The only negative I see is that you can only use factory Dell ink cartridges to make the printing look good. The knockoff cartridges do not work good & you continually get the out of ink messages when using knockoff's. Great printer though & I highly recommend!
Second Dell printer that I've owned, I was very pleased with the first one even though their ink is a little pricey. This printer however I was not at all pleased with; in fact it crashed my Dell D820 and forced me to buy a whole new setup-went HP laptop + printer this time and I'm very happy. When I first opened up the printer and ran the install cd, everything went fine, even got a sample page out of it. Didn't use it for the rest of the day, set my laptop aside and went about other business. When I booted up the following morning I was greeted by the famous Window BSOD (blue screen of death); not how I wanted to start my Wednesday morning. I took some time, ran diagnostics and was able to boot in safe mode where I performed a system restore to before the printer driver had been installed. I shut it down, took it to Best buy to see if they could replicate the problem; they could not so by all accounts the system restore was successful. What a fool I was that after all that I waited a couple days and tried to install the printer a second time. This time it crashed my computer, no dice on the safe mode system restore. Ended up crashing my memory driver and some of the graphics driver somehow. Never had a problem in 4 years with that laptop, regularly serviced, I was hoping to get at least another 2 or 3 before I considered an upgrade. Corrupt software? Who knows, maybe I got 1 in million but still the printer cost me $90.00 and after the system crash I ended up spending over $1300.00 for a new laptop, printer, Microsoft office, virus software, geek squad setup. Came out to be an expensive purchase for me, will you make the same mistake with this poor piece of hardware?Read full review
I also came across this all in one ink jet printer on ebays daily deal. I thought, great everything I needed at a great price and a great product in Dell. Wow was i terrably mistaken, I love how mostly everyone who bought this crap seems to have written their reviews before they have had a chance to actually use it for a month. I, nor my family hardly use this printer because of the cost of the DELL ink you must buy for it. Which you would think would make the printer last longer- WRONG, within the first month the printer keeps alerting me to clean printer head, then deep clean printer head.Again, and again. After doing so it makes you print out test papers which wastes all your ink.Of course i can buy a new printhead for the cost of what I paid for the printer. No thanks, Dell really dropped the ball on this one.Well gotta go take the kids to the library so they can print out their projects, our printer is now just a big drink coaster.Read full review
