Mar 12, 2018 Super Just what I needed to collect cans for the Cans for Critters project in my area. I find cans in all different kinds of situations, including some pretty rugged desert terrain which requires reaching into mesquite bushes and digging out some of them that have been pushed into the ground. This product has the length and the strength to do the job, plus it will also pick up the ones that have been flattened on the road.. Not only that, but you can switch the grabber head around to get better angles. I had another brand that was longer than this one (which was good as well) but not only wasn't the grabber head big enough to latch onto the larger cans ... but it wouldn't hold onto cans of any size very well. The grabber head wouldn't stay put either. It kept twisting around on it's own making retrieving some cans a real challenge. If you want the job done right ... I'd advise you to get the CQ-Wellness-Pick-Up-Grabber-Reaching-Tool-32-Inches.Read full review

I purchased two of these and was thrilled with them for the short period of time they lasted. The grabbing fingers open and close via a thin cable running from the trigger to the two plastic grabbing fingers at the end. Unfortunately, the cable is attached through two holes in the plastic grabbing fingers, after about a months use the holes through the plastic grabbing fingers weakens and breaks; causing the cable to snap back toward the trigger. Everything is put together with rivits making them imposible to repair take aoart and repair. I will not purchase these again, they are a waste of money. Why can't anyone make these out of all light weight metal. When metal meets plastic, plastic looses every time.

My husband man handled my last "good" grabber and broke it. For being pretty inexpensive & not having a maker's mark/branding, it is very well made & has great features. It has a sturdy metal wire mechanism. It is easy to hold & pull the trigger. The flexible rubber on the end makes it easy to get a grip on things, while being gentle & not crushing things. You can pick up small light items like coins & cat toys while being sturdy enough to pick up a full water bottle or tape dispenser. Anything you can securely fit within the "claw" and you have enough strength to hold & keep a firm grasp on, you can pick up/bring to you. My only wish would be for the whole trigger mechanism to be made of metal per the plastic that holds the metal wire secure is always the weak point in every grabber I have ever owned. Highly recommend! For every day normal needs, it is perfect!Read full review

I wasn't expecting too much for what... 12 bucks delivered? Mine arrived 2 days early and appears to be drop shipped from amazon. I bought it for picking up things in gravel beds and river beds, so I wouldn't have to worry about an unseen snake. Works via a pull cable (Yes Cable, not string) inside the handle, and provides plenty of clamp force. For example, I picked up a 5 pound hand barbell fairly easy. Head rotates 90 degrees if needed. Its not "unbreakable", but well worth the money. I'd buy another one.
