Exact replacement for the original
The original clock mechanism stopped working after 20+ years. After some searching, this one was found to be a direct replacement. I did use the original three clock hands instead of the ones that came with the new mechanism, as they were different. One word of note...the model no. on the back of the original showed "12888". Then I noticed online that they're ALL 12888. Most of the 12888 mechanisms out there have nuts to tighten the hands...but this one is a press fit. Nice, but not accurate.
The clock movement fit my clock well. It runs smoothly and I like the style of hands. It ran well for about 4 days, but now it is not showing correct time. It's about 2 hours slow at this point. I reset the time this morning and will see if it stays set or not. So, I like the movement, but if it continues to show the wrong time, it won't be of any use to me.
