In watching this movie one witnesses an alternate origin story for Godzilla. Initially, he doesn't show up exactly as his old self onscreen. The big guy goes through a metamorphosis and evolution instead. While this is all happening you see how a cumbersome government bureaucracy can't get out of its own way in reacting to Godzilla's appearance. I find this aspect interesting and perhaps authentic (while others may not). To be clear, we aren't talking about Academy Award winning material here. Nonetheless, this film manages to balance the Godzilla and human aspects of the tale better than a number of other movies.

Two years after Godzilla 2014, Toho has produced the newest Godzilla film which is very close to the 1954 film but different. Of course the other Godzilla films are just as different, But it's been 12 years since Toho has done another Godzilla movie in the franchise. And this is the most recent one of all. Most of the Godzilla movies focus more on the humans and making the Big G get less screen time like in the last American version but this Godzilla has gotten even more less surprisingly. They give him powers he never used before. As a reboot, it's not bad, it's just different. At least they didn't take away his noticeable features like they did in Godzilla 1998. That movie was a disaster compared to all the other Godzilla films to say the least. No spoilers will be given from this film, but if you wanna see it, then buy it. Also I didn't think I was gonna like the new design. Before the movie's release, the fist shots of Godzilla were just terrible and fans complained until the trailer hit Youtube so we were like WOW!!!!! Read full review

it was in great shape and delivered early, An earlier and fresh take on Godzilla it really approached it with a Cloverfield style.

The worst Godzilla Movie I have watched and I have every Godzilla Movie in my collection . Too much boardroom chatter , In one scene they go from a boardroom meeting into another Boardroom meeting . The actors are plain terrible and either overact or look wooden . The Atomic bomb flashback is childish and totally unnecessary .The slug-like Godzilla is laughable and when he's all grown it's just as bad as he resembles a burnt Turkey carcass with a huge tail . the story is plain boring . It has nice daytime CGI in parts but other than that I can not recommend this farce . I drove 60 miles and saw this in the theater and the audience was laughing and not in a good way.
