    Low budget but decent acting.

    The Jesus actor did a good job, but the other actors were better because they're way of speech was more normal. Meaning, Jesus' voice sounded like he was always quoting, like reading a poem. It's like Jesus was always on preaching mode and not have any relaxed conversations. The special effects were cheap and the bread and fish miracle could've been done way better. Jesus' beating looked realistic, so the effects there were good. The rest were, eh. But, the story was very good. A little long though. Compared to Passion of the Christ, POTC was better, but this is a decent one and should be given a shot.

    It gives insight in the life of Jesus and helps to enrich a person's faith.

    I had seen snippets of it some years ago but I had not watched it in its entirety. The character of Jesus is carefully envisaged as the gospels portray Him. However, I doubt that for example John the Baptist had a Bob Marley style of hairdo.

    The life and mission of Jesus Christ

    One of the best accounts of the life of Jesus Christ that I have ever watched. It quite accurately portrayed his life as chronicled in the gospels. I plan to make a Christmas gift of this movie to each of my eight children. I only need to get 4 more copies.

    deeply moving/mostly accurate

    I have not yet watched the Matthew dvd, but this is my second copy of Son of God. There are a few poetic license parts in the dvd, not totally Scriptural, but all in all, it was so well done that I wept through the entire Crucifixion scenes. Every person needs to be reminded of what our lord, Jesus Christ, suffered for us on that Cross to pay OUR sin debt.
