I love the Waltons tv series & didn't even know they had made movies! They are really good & just like watching the show, except everyone(except Mary Ellen & Elizabeth)are older & fatter! LOL But still great entertainment, & always has a great ending with the family coming thru together. They're all better off financially & things are getting more modern, better cars(they even get a woody side station wagon!)& everyone is grown up. John Boy lives in NYC and has had a successful book.

It's fun to sometimes leave the stress of this world and enter another time period. The Walton's never disappoint me. I find them wholesome and ethical in the way they deal with others but not preachy. They have their family issues which makes them seem real. Although they always resolve their problems within the hour, would you really like watching something for "entertainment" where you felt worse at the end than you did when you started? My only complaint is in some of the movies continuity. In one episode they have Erin getting married leaving you to believe she and her husband had a long happy marriage but in another movie she's divorced. Because the program was on for so many seasons, and I watched the family grow up, marry, move away and come back together, I enjoyed the additional longer movies which helped bring closure. It reminded me of going to a family reunion.Read full review
I live in the country and do not always have TV. I try to keep some relazing family friendly DVD's available. This DVD came quickly and packaged well.

I'm looking forward to sitting down and watching the movie collection, of the six reunion movies all on one disc. Instead of catching this one here and another one there.

The product itself is great. I’ve always loved this series; the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the last movie “A Waltons Easter” was poorly researched and made, filled with glaring inaccuracies. The worst of these was John-Boy anchoring a broadcast of the moon landing on the parents’ 40th anniversary. This would put their wedding date as 1929. The show was set in the 1930s. See the problem?
