As preliminary price range context, I was initially looking for black friday deals on the VAVA 4K projector, as I have heard that they sometimes lower it below $2000. While waiting, I looked around some more and found the Samsung LSP7T and LSP9T. I liked the idea of having the familiar Tizen interface and apps, and a decent built in speaker to make it as simple as possible to use for my wife without my "technical intervention". Basically, so she could use it "as a TV" by just pressing the remote's ON button. I could not justify spending $5/6K on an LSP9T or the other popular triple-laser projectors. I'm coming from a 720P portable projector, so I figured even the "lower shelf" single laser LSP7T or VAVA 4K would blow us away for a few years. I was able to grab the LSP7T at a lower price than even the discounted VAVA 4K, and I am extremely pleased with the projected quality and overall experience. My wife was skeptical, but really bought into it once she saw that it's basically a massive TV that comes out of this small sleek-looking rectangle. Normally I project this onto a wall in our bedroom to get about a 95" screen. I also bought a portable Elite Screen 110" screen that I can deploy in the family room for any special occasions (big games, etc.) Hard to imagine moving a regular 90-110" screen TV around the house! I'm sure there are better projectors out there, and technology will keep sprinting forward, but I would definitely recommend this for the ~$2K price point. Read full review

I actually wanted to give this 4.5 stars. The set-up was very easy, fit it to my screen in a matter of minutes. Picture quality is good, but the black levels are not as deep as my Epson 5030ub projector. If you are looking for cinema-quality, this is not going to give it to you. My Epson is a 1080p unit, while this is advertised as a 4k unit. The Epson has overall better picture quality, but I can't beat the convenience of this projector. My Epson projector just didn't work in my room because of its configuration. I love the fact that I can keep some window blinds open and still get a very good picture. Who wants to sit in a dark room all day? This is a great any time of day unit that easily replaces a regular tv in most lighting situations. My wife says that we'll never have to go to the theater again, that's high praise from her. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this projector. It meets all my needs, along with picture quality that is pretty impressive. Read full review
