Wow, just wow. I used to have a Leica 90mm f/2 Summicron (last pre-ASPH) and a 50mm f/0.95 Noctilux, and honestly, for portraits this is better. Beautiful bokeh, beautiful rendering and just the right amount of compression for flattering portraits. The lens is sharp, even wide-open, but not so sharp as to draw attention to every skin imperfection. This lens was just made for photographing people between 1 and 3 meters away. In that role, there is simply nothing better. The lens is also good for just about everything else one might want to photograph with a 75mm lens, but the focus is obviously (and rightly) on portraiture. I used mine this morning for some shots of trains in available darkness and it was perfect. Just buy it, there is nothing better for even double the price.
