Loud enough for your big yard, boat, living room, or deer camp! Best portable rechargeable speaker for the money in this price range. I own two others just a little cheaper brands than this one is, and realistically they are not half as good. Last a long time even at full Volume, sweet design. Great Speaker, Bass not so much
Very disappointed in the bass response, my older JBL Extreme sounded much better, had bigger deeper bass on all songs, other than that the unit is great. I read all the data on the tests and they all said the bass was better than the JBL Exteme...uh, no. Some songs actually sound flat, especially the older music. The newer tunes sound pretty good as if more up to date recording technology is translated better through the speaker. That was the one thing that really impressed me about the original JBL Extreme was that the stuff recorded back in the 60's had great bass, better than in the original recordings. Overall happy.
I came from owning a UE Megaboom and after having 2 of them die on me I decided to go a different direction and ended up with the Xtreme 2. I like it and it does have a good sound with plenty of bass, however, I miss the 360 deg sound from the UE. Overall the sound is probably a little better than the UE but the 100% water proof and 360 deg sound from the UE is what I miss. The Xtreme has a very directional sound. Extreme 2 or Charge 4?
I was looking for something more than what I already have. I have the Charge 4, and there's nothing wrong with it. I just wanted more. I ordered the Extreme 2 thinking is bigger, it must be louder. That's not the case. The Charge 4, to me, is just as loud and clear as the Extreme 2. The lows are a bit more in the Extreme 2. Also, there's a cute strap to carry it around. I chose the Extreme 2 over the 3 because it's compatible with my Charge 4, so I can link them together. I wasn't sure if the 3 would link Overall, it's a nice speaker.
