"Nice little unit and it works"
The product is nice, the flap on the side does not fit very good, but OK. The battery pack? as this is the only type that can be used is too bad. Inexpensively Great VHF
This is another best buy for a waterproof/float-able VHF portable radio. It maxes at 2.5 watts peak output but on water this is of no consequence. I have more powerful built-in units in my yacht but for the skiff this is perfect and makes it very easy to contact marinas alerting them to my location, etc. The device holds a charge well and shuts off when charging is complete. Not too bad
When I got it the battery wouldn't charge when on the radio as designed. There is a problem somewhere between the charging points on the radio and the battery inside. To charge it I hat to put the battery in the charging cradle and wedge it in with a forigen object to keep it there. Once I did this it charged fine.
