Great Tool, Wish I had bought this years ago.
With this tool and an 8 or 10 foot ladder you can reach just about any height, the angled saw makes getting the tops easier, and you can adjust the pole length to get in tight spots. Can't say anything negative about this tool it is totally functional and good quality, very easy to disassemble and clean too. THERE'S NOTHING ABOUT THIS SAW I DON'T LIKE
This pole saw is nicely engineered, solidly constructed and works like gangbusters. The pole is a snap to extend and locks securely. Tilting the saw is quick, simple and positive. Best of all, this device chews up limbs like soft butter. Plenty of power. As of now, I haven't used it all that much, but it has performed flawlessly. Great little saw for light pruning of trees branches.
Pros: Cuts limbs easily. Telescopic arm length can be changed in seconds. It is electric so it starts every time at the push of a button - no mixing gas/oil, priming or wearing your arm out from pulling the start cord. Works great very good value was looking for a pole saw had been looking at more expencive gas units could not justifi the cost due to minimal needs.
I bought this a few weeks back and just go around to using it. This pole saw is great. I had been looking at more expensive gas pole saws like $ 500. Could not justify the expense of that due to the lack of future needs. So I went for this. This is one of the best low cost purchases I have ever made. It cuts much faster that I ever could have imagined. I will be getting a spare chain for it as I certainly want to keep this ready and available for use. It definitely deserves a place in my shed. I almost did not want any thing to do with this as I generally do not buy inexpensive tools. My real saw is a 20 year old real Husqvarna 54 that still works like new so I am used to the real deal. This will never replace that but it works great for trimming branches just out of reach. It most likely will put my manual pole pruner into retirement, at the very least I wont need the saw part of it any more, getting to old to be sawing by hand. One thing for sure I will not hesitate to buy another Sun Joe product when the need comes up. I think probably some of the negative reviews may come from unrealistic expectations or perhaps they come from individuals that have never had or used a chain saw before. My expectations were quite low, probably from being used to buying much more expensive tools/equipment. Awesome chain saw!!
The pole saw works really well with no problems, be sure to monitor your oil consumption. The adjustability makes it even better and the saw Operation is pretty smooth and powerful. I've used it for about 2 hours since I bought it to cut thick branches from an oak tree and it cuts very easy. You don't have to apply lots of pressure when making cuts either. Sharp, fast, and powerful! And affordable - at least, as a refurb...
Cut a 10" diameter limb from a tree in my back yard, standing on the ground - it worked! More power than I expected - cut firewood for the wife's fire pit from the limb, as well as removing all the brush from the remainder of the smaller branches - no need to break out the gas-powered chainsaw that is too unweildy since injuring my back. Nice to know I can still get stuff done in spite of the effects of old age, and the short bar is a lot safer. I have been needing a pole chainsaw for years now. This product is easy to assemble and I am remarkably impressed by the cutting power. I highly recommend this for small to medium size branch trimming. I did not try the thicker branches as I did not have help and being 63 years old did not want to risk injury by trying to trim branches I felt were heavier than I wanted to deal with at my age. Before you buy a pole chain saw, read this first.
Its easy to use, works well. The problem I find is when you cut through the limb, the weight shifts and the heavy end of the pole is at one end (and it's come down) the light end of the pole is you and your back. For me the end result was severe back spasms requiring three visits to my MD, ate flexiril like they were tic tacs. I slept in a back brace for a week. My husband and dog slept on the cough for three days because my screaming made it difficult for them to sleep. Missed a week of work. I start physical therapy next week.
