The thumb rest worked very well for me, the pistol became very comfortable with the rubber grip. Heads up! the grip snagged up on my bolt lock lever. IMHO these are the best grips on the market.
I've always preferred - liked thumb rest pistol grips and these don't disappoint. I have somewhat large hands and these grips feel so much better than the skinny factory grips (on my Mk-IV Target) as well as the wood thumb rest grips that came on my 2nd MK-IV (a Competition model). Between the glossy finish and how the wooden thumb rest is cut at a downward angle, my thumb would easily slide off. These grips not only have a level area under the thumb but they also have fantastic traction which keeps my thumb perfectly in place. After putting these on the Target model and loving them, I ordered a 2nd set for the Competition. Although these are comfortable fitting for my hands, I don't think they're too big for medium hands. Like other Hogue grips, the textured finish provides a nice, comfortable, and secure grip. If I had more MK-IV pistols, they'd all have these.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Priced right, sturdy, fits well, grip is more full for my medium sized hands (oem grips made for a rather slim grip, at least for me). The rubber makes it virtually slip proof, really helps, especially with sweaty or moist hands. The thumb rest is a nice added touch; really like that. The oem grips on my Ruger Mark IV Target model were such that occasionally in a two hand shot, my right thumb would push up on the manual safety, causing it to move from "fire" to "safe".
