I suggest cleaning your housing after taking old fan out just so you get all the old crusty dust cleaned out. More things around the house should be designed like this so things can be repaired/replaced this easy!

It's a good quality fan and I would recommend it. The disappointment is that we had a Nutone fan that was 4.0 Sones and we bought this fan upgrade kit thinking the noise level would be noticeably less. It was not. It was only slightly less noisy. We have other Nutone fans that are 0.8 Sones and you can hardly tell its running.

We needed to replace our original, Contractor-grade fan, which has no access to the ductwork.
