Cast iron griddle
I've used cast iron frying pans for years so I purchased this for a gift knowing it won't break, wear out or cause health issues. I'm sure there are larger sizes perhaps, but this one works great for the type of stove it will be used on. They cannot be used on smooth glass top stoves would be the only drawback. Crossing My Fingers
I really want to like this grill for the size and potential advantage of cooking steak by this method. I do have some concerns though. The grill surface is extremely rough and likely to cause meat to stick to it . This probably will be a challenge to clean. Very very good cast iron grill
As I said in the title. It fits over the front and rear burner of my gas stove. I made a steak in the grill side and the steak tasted just like it would on a outdoor grill. Good griddle, but needs work before use
I was not expecting this to be ready to use, as I anticipated, based on other reviews, that the surface of the griddle would be somewhat rough, and it is. The first thing I did was to use a grinding attachment on my 12v drill, to achieve a smooth surface (you can find videos on YouTube showing the best way to do this). Then I re-seasoned the griddle, and have used it quite a bit, with good results. As with any cast iron pan, you need to know how to care for it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The Ozark Trail cast iron griddle does fairly well with most foods due to the preseasoned surface.
The cast iron make the griddle heat evenly. over all it is very nice. The only downside is that the rough surface of the griddle makes it a little hard to clean. Although the answers above only offer a yes or no answer, the answer should be it would be a lot easier if the surface was smooth. Also, some foods may grip the rough surface. Use for making cheese steak sandwiches.
