Good steel, very sharp.
They did a good grinding and tempering on this knife. It takes a sharp keen edge and holds sharp pretty good. It's 440C high carbon stainless steel. The rubber handle will wear some and it will come loose in the sheath over time and also makes some noise in the sheath when walking or running. Not a problem for me and you can remove the rubber handle and replace it with a custom handle to suit your needs. I also like the full tang that extends to a glass breaker at the end. This knife also has nice balance and fits nice in the average hand. The blade is thick enough for some light bush craft work and also for industrial or home and garden work. This knife is almost identical to the Smith & Wesson SW9. Just a slight difference in blade grind and a different pommel. The sheath is basic and right hand only (SW9 is ambi). The belt loop is removable so it is easier to lash to gear. The handle is comfortable and gives a good grip. It was usably sharp out of the box, and sharpened well to a razor edge. A Good Knife for the Price!!
This is a good knife. it is fairly sharp straight out of the box, and sharpens to a keen edge that will shave the hairs off your arm ( or any other hairy part of your body, you do you, I don't judge). The handle is a rubber-ish type material (quite possibly actual rubber, I'm not a chemist) that fells good in the hand. There is a window (nose?) breaker shaped into the lanyard hole on the handle and the knife feels well balanced. The sheath has built-in retention with a positive clicking when the handle meets the sheath and stays put until drawn. there are grommets and cut outs along the sides of the sheath to lash it to a backpack, plate -carrier, molle webbing ( your imagination is the limit, really), etc. The belt attachment is removable/reconfigurable as I have actually turned mine upside-down so that the sheath rides higher and out farther from my belt.
