One of my favorite Natsume games and one I wanted to keep in my PS2 collection. Definitely not for every one, but if you are a fan of Harvest Moon, Sims, or obscure Japanese games, this may be a good one to try. The translation is pretty awful and the game is overall rough on the edges, but it manages to be charming and funny in its own way, and the game play is genuinely fun. Challenging, fun, and hours upon hours of levels.

Game didn't work. I'm thinking it was burned to a CD because the disk was thicker than all my other game disks.. didn't properly fit in the console. Was unable to be read.

This is a fun, yet irritating game. You get to build a city and try to make everyone happy. The irritating part of the game is the NPC's that seem to want "everything NOW". It is still a very fun and relatively easy game to play. The stategy is to build the buildings and houses that the residents of the town you are managing want. They all want different things and some of them don't want what the others do. You have to try to figure out a way to make everyone happy at the same time as well as meet your other goals, ie...build so many of some buildings or have so many residents in your city. I bought this game a few years ago and it got damaged by younger children playing with it and was so happy to be able to find another one to buy so I can continue where I left off. The game is basically for 10+ years of age because of the need to be able to prioritize and strategize your tasks. My 5 year old daughter tried to play and it is difficult for her, but my 8 year old niece could play it a little better. My preteen nieces were able to play it as well as I can, after some trial and error on their part.Read full review
I had this game when I was little and somewhere between moving it got misplaced, I'm glad to have come across another copy. Metropolismania puts you in the yellow suit of your unnamed metropolis-maker working for a huge company who wants you to build cities and develop relationships with your town members who move in: think of it as the Sims and Sim City mixed together. This game can be kind of difficult to grab at first: I was never able to beat it for the couple of years I had it, I suppose now that I'm older it won't be too hard anymore. Once you grasp the concept, the game is EXTREMELY addicting: there is a road tool, and I remember myself simply spending minutes at a time just making streets just because or lingering on a level longer than I had to to unlock new kinds of places. Like a real city, the townspeople and cities grow fast and you'll be able to watch an empty patch of land grow into a bustling city within an hour or so. The people are interesting, but sometimes a little inappropriate, so I'm not sure if you would want your 6-year-old who has just learned how to read confused over some of the dialogue: I recall one lengthy discussion with a gossip-ey woman who decided to tell me someone's husband was having an affair. But, this game is definitely lots of fun, and if you're into Natsume's games (Harvest moon, for example) or the Sims series, this definitely may be the game for you!Read full review
