As a life long mac user, I bought this for the inexpense for college use. I had isssues with window's new internet explorer, which I do not like. Finally got to download chrome and use websites I wanted. The computer itself is fast and great size for my backpack. No issues with hardware at all. Nice little computet.

Nice looking computer but when i plugged it up the battery was dead! contacted seller after recharging several times and asked him to make it good by sending me a 14 dollar battery. They offered to pay half and due to some fine print 6 pages down the battery isn't part of the warranty. but this is the description under sellers notes: "Seller Notes: “Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) with GENUINE Microsoft Windows 10 Home operating system installed. This item includes a Brand New license/COA for Windows 10 with recovery solution. This computer has been fully tested, is fully operational and is in Excellent working condition. The unit may show minor cosmetic wear and tear such as scratches on the plastic case and functions great!” I have already bought a battery but buyer be ware of the fine print in their pages. Bend over and grab your ankles. Worse than a doctors visit! MatondanaRead full review

I have had great luck with refurbished computing devices over the years and I am quite pleased with this refurfished HP 8470p Elitebook. It has 8gb, ram. This item title says 4gb ram, but mine is 8gb ram, I checked before I ordered it and that is what it says in device system info. Now it says 4gb ram, don't know what was going with the discrepancy in the title info on these. 360GB hard drive memory, Optical Drive, fingerprint scanner, which I didn't set up because I heard it would not work with Windows 10 update it came with. I finally set it up and it works faster and more consistent than the fingerprint scanner on my iPad Pro. It takes 44 seconds from turn on, from being completely shut down, to sign in by scanning my print for id. That is fast for an older, completely refurbished laptop. I thought it was fast, but maybe not? It transfered 1080 photos from a thumb drive in less than a minute. It sure is fast enough for me. I did have to buy a $13.99 6 cell battery for it, the one that came with it would not charge, I plugged it in and used it that way till I received the new one. I was sure I would have to replace it anyway, the batteries were not guaranteed in description. So simple to access the battery compartment and other components. I have not tested the total battery time I would get on a full charge yet. I use it connected to outlet anyway. I did not buy it as a mobile laptop and knew it was over 4 lbs, though a bit more than a person would want to tote around as a mobile device, but it could be mobile. Nice laptop for $208. and in great condition. The speakers, I was not expecting to be too impressive, not one laptop I have ever had were too great, but I can hear them well enough, then I found my old Logitech USB clip on laptop stereo speakers that I thought I gave away a couple years ago. Nice surprise finding it, now it sounds a lot better. 4 USB ports, 2 of them are the 3.0 ports, if that is what they call them. The other ports are not familiar, except the VGA and Ethernet, been too long since I had a laptop, I was into tablets for a few years, still am, but wanted a basic laptop, nothing fancy, just with Optical Drive was a must. I got more than I thought I could get at this price point. This is a great choice if you want a good, fast non touchscreen laptop that would break the bank. This is the way to go. I was not sorry, very pleased in fact. This is a laptop made to be tough, it is. Cosmetically, only 1 tiny little dent was on top edge, I can live with that.Read full review

It was my first laptop, I bought for my astrophotography and it performs magnificently. It was usb 2 and 3, and firewire, and even vga and hdmi hookup. I load my telescope and my digital cmos camera, with gps assistance and it coordinates all those plug in plus more. I did buy a wireless mouse, because for me its much easier to navigate. Some like the touch pads, but I prefer holding a mouse for more easy access of movement. Its powerful and fast, medium weight, battery power is fine.

Great notebook for the money. Set up on the new installed Windows very easy. Just make sure you are connected to the internet first. Only problem I have encountered is the sound from the speakers. They sound like they are grounded out and very low volume. I use the Bluetooth on the notebook to connect to my headset which sounds great!!
