Performs very well in all features tested. As far as I can tell, it is new and has the 3 yr Yamaha warranty. Arrived 2 days early. Nice. The YPAO setup was easy. The iPhone/iPad apps have lots of features that function very well from anywhere around the house. Currently I am not using the remote much but expect that the novelty of using the Yamaha AV Controller app on my iPad air 2 will wear off. The Yamaha MusicCast app is well featured and functions very well. The apps just got software updates. This RX-A3070 has done 2 software upgrades. The internet radio really works great and has tons of stations. Lot to learn and sort out. There are a number of terms that could be better defined in terms of what it does such as Input and Scene. DSP is Digital Sound Processing, of course. I figured, stumbled upon, the terms functions in stages. The owners manual is 200 pages in English and more or less in other languages. I cannot do a Audioholics style assessment. But I can say that I am very pleased with this RX-A3070.Read full review

Well I purchased to update an old HTR6090 120 watt per channel 7.1 receiver that's about 10 years old. Wow what a nice upgrade sound quality is way up bass needs some work but still really good. All the new 4k stuff works like a charm with my 4k gear. Love the built in wifi/Bluetooth and apps. Love the smart phone app, the only thing I didn't like very much was amp assignment you have to use one of there pre setup configurations to t ake advantage of the 9 amplifiers built in. In most cases this will work for most but in some like mine you will be left with 2 unused amp channels you cannot use. Would a buy again? Yes at the 1600 dollar range give or take yes no doubt. If I paid full retail 1999.99 plus tax no I would not I would have bought the rx-a2070 in that case. Hope tthis last 10 plus years like my last one did.Read full review

Terrific sound and smooth power supply. Nice tough exterior with a sleek look. I found the remote lacking in several ways. First was the fact that it won’t work all the Direct TV functions. Second it won’t turn on all devices at once. This quality or craftsmanship should do both no questions.

Great receiver for a complicated setup. TV inside, TV outside, 7.1 inside, 2 bose outdoor speakers, two in-ceiling speakers in kitchen, and 8 sources handled without issue. Was able to get rid of a secondary amp required by my last Onkyo. Glad this model still has an AUX HDMI on the front; so easy to pop in a Chromecast when needed. Particularly love "party mode" for whole house synced music! Bass sounds great, speakers sound great, and plays 4k content from Fire TV to LG OLED beautifully. Works with Harmony Hub which you can connect to SmartThings hub and Alexa to set up and turn on/off different "Activities."

Yamaha receiver is very balance in sound quality overall nice construction of the unit and for old school players the phono is excellent when playing your turn table.
