I bought this to upgrade the wife's computer from an old Radeon HD 5670. Her monitor was connected to it's DVI output. I was hesitant to buy a used video card. To summarize, I got it to work after hours of troubleshooting and buying a new monitor. Specific pros/cons below. Cons: It took hours to install this video card. I took off three stars due to the three points below. -The manual is wrong. For the RX 550, you do NOT need an seperate power connector. -"Driver Hell". The latest AMD drivers (ver. 20.5.1) would not install correctly even in safe mode. (Error 192). I tried the ver. 20.4.4 drivers but would get Error 99. This during safe mode. It has to do w/ signed drivers. I had to use an AMD util to clean up after each failed attempt. The ver 20.4.2 drivers installed fine in safe mode. However, I would get a black screen that stayed when launching Windows in normal mode. Which leads to the next point. -I hooked up a HDMI monitor which worked fine. So, we wound up buying a new monitor. Pros: For the price, you are getting a fair value (once working). It comes with a CD with last year's drivers on it. Also, there is a multi-language manual. The video card is working over the Displayport connection so that's nice. She's noticed an improvement. In closing, I've never had such an experience with Nvidia cards. I'm sticking with them for the next video card purchase.Read full review
