Kingston SSDNow V300 SSD Drives
I've started replacing all of my disk drives with these, using mostly 120Gb, but also have a 60 & a 240 as well. Really speeded up my Dell D620 laptop, not using the SATA III capabilities but still is much faster. Produces less heat and also requires less power to operate. Tried using different Windows settings to improve performance, checked some different posts on the web, but on the most part they just install and go. Sticking with Windows 7, but could probably get even better performance using 8 & 10, 7 just suites my needs the best. Would definately recommend this one, well worth the money.

Made my 4.5 year old laptop like new!
I have a 2011 MacBook Pro that originally came with a 300 GB hard disk drive. For several months my computer was laggy at almost every function...opening Microsoft Word took about 2 minutes. After installing this, I can boot my computer in under 20 seconds, open Word in 5 seconds, and do almost everything with no waiting whatsoever. My battery life is much improved as well. This was very easy to install. It's basically plug and play. I've been using this for just a couple weeks so far but I have not had any issues with it. It's exceeded my expectations.

Running in USB 3.0 case
Kingston has been providing memory for many years and has been very reliable. There Solid State Drives should have the same quality of which is an indication of my use for the past few days. I installed Ubuntu 19,04 on this drive and installed inside a USB 3.0 case and attached it to an external eSata port on my laptop. It response has been quick for such a small drive. I am looking to add a few more of these drives to my system as I am condensing the amount of bulky computer equipment I have. This is a good small drive for storage.

THE SWEETSPOT .... BANG FOR THE BUCK
I am using this model Hard drive in 2 desktops and one laptop, ( the laptop is an old core 2 CPU designed for Win XP but now running win7-64bit) all 3 PC's were rejuvenated. The two desktops came with win7 and boot in half the time.. I am not saying that this drive is faster than any other SSD hard drive, but I do rust them and mine are dependable, my first one is over two years old now.......Like I said ... this is my favorite category Sweet-Spot, you really get your money's worth.....Good luck

Very good quality for the price
I bought 2 of these 1 for my wife's laptop and 1 for a our living room media center PC. I got them for the main obvious reason anyone buys a ssd, too speed it up lol. Both are for sure faster than the original hdd's in the 2 computers, I can say though I have an OCZ ARC100 240gb, and in everyday speeds and benchmarks the ARC100 blows these outta the water. I got my ARC100 for like $40 over a year ago now and not for a lack of trying was not able to find another even close to that price. I read TONS of reviews and statements and came to the conclusion that these maybe not as fast as my other, BUT..... They get the job done and reliably also. They might not bust out super speeds like some of the top brands but for the price they are perfect for someone on a budget and doesn't wanna break the bank but also doesn't wanna buy something junk. I would recommend these to someone for sure, especially if your just wanting to upgrade from that old slow hdd.Read full review

The 120GB V300 is the best priced and the best quality sshd for the money!!
By far the best bang for your buck on the entire internet! No it's not the fastest SATA III solid state hard drive out there but the very minute amount of read / write time that it's behind my Samsung 840 EVO PRO or my Sandisk ULTRA II that I use myself in my laptop and other to run the OS in my tower is barely noticeable unless your some kind of nerd dork that does not but overclock a desktop all day long. Seriously, I notice almost no difference in the three besides the other two I listed were twice as expensive. I've purchased 22 of these V300 SSHD's so far for clients who want their laptops upgraded and have yet to have one single drive come back with any problems at all. I did however buy a V200 about three years ago and had some problems with it not wanting to update to the new firmware and Kingston sent me an RMA shipping label they paid for after 2 1/2 years and than sent me a brand new V300 because they didn't have any V200's in stock anymore!! So I would have to rate Kingston the best SSHD manufacture when it comes to affordability and quality. Plus the Kingston SSHD's look 100 times cooler than the Sandisk or the Samsung. That really gets to me because I have my Samsung set up vertically in my tower lit up with a red led light so you can see it behind the glass door and it looks lame. I put one of the Kingston V300's in there just to see what it looked like and it looked way better. So to anyone who's on a budget like 99% of the rest of us, go ahead and put one of these bad boys in your laptop and see it run 10 times faster and boot up in 10 seconds. The combo I've been doing for a bunch of people is replacing their optical drive with a secondary HDD caddy that connects to the optical drive SATA port, put their original 500GB or whatever size mechanical hard drive where the optical drive was, put one of these Kingston's in drive #1, install OS, set it up so everything including all files get saved onto the mechanical drive with all its room and only run the OS including games and apps off the Kingston. I then put the DVDRW optical drive in an external optical drive caddy that's $7 off eBay and connects using 2 USB cords ( I mean how often does anyone use a DVD or CD these days anyways? ). Everyone I've done this for usually says the same thing. "Man, it's so much nicer having the two hard drives instead of the dvd drive". DVD optical drives are becoming the new floppy drives. But having the cheap external caddy keeps it so you always have that option to install software. I install of my OS off DVD so it works great. Best for older computers.
I have a Mac mini that uses this ssd via 1395a - firewire. Full speed!. I have the OS running off of it, and it is a major speed improvement. Barely any wheel of death now. I would put this inside the Mac, but the Mac belongs to the company that I work for. FYI: 1395a = 300Mb Max, SSD= 400M bW/R Max -something like that anyway.

Good quality drive
I have installed 9 of these drives so far in laptops, desktops and even one in a server as the boot drive. These drives aren't the fastest out there but they are the most expensive either. These make a great upgrade to an older PC to make it seem fast again. The only negative is the size, 120GB is about the smallest drive you could realistically use in a windows machine.
