First, to respond to a previous reviewer, Plano doesn't actually say there are straps with it, it says "mounts", which are where you run your own self-supplied straps. It is definitely misleading though technically correct. Also, I bought the identical case 2 years ago and it *DID* come with the straps. Consequently, I can understand your frustration about that part of it. On the other hand, it has 4, not "a couple" of closures. They work well and I've had them on a couple different brands of cases for three years and never had one come undone nor have I lost one. You just have to make sure they're seated properly. Waterproof? No. Piano hinge? Definitely not. I do know of a cases that cover both concerns but the cheapest one is $249. What it does do is offer reasonable protection from the weather when carrying you weapon from the house to the car or at the rage and from bumps and dings. They will easily hold two smaller rifles, of 40" OAL, one AR type and one regular or one scoped rifle in a case that offers rather good protection. On the other hand, I cannot give it more than 3 stars for two reasons: first, I bought one in 2017 for $25; second, Plano really is dishonest with their misleading labelling. There's no way around that. I used to tutor English, including grammar, to college students so I know exactly what Plano is up to with this type of statement on the packaging. Read full review

Proof that you can put "tactical" on a piece of junk and charge lots of money for it. Plano should be ashamed. First, the latches will literally fall off in your hand, they are attached by a very thin snap- on design, i.e., no hinge. (See photo.) Speaking of hinges, the case does not have a full-length piano hinge, just a couple of light-duty hinges. (See photo.) The label gives the impression that there are hold-down straps inside the case, but none were found in the one I got. (See photo.) There is a small flange that should shed water if the case were laid flat, but no, some idiot decided the flange should face downwards on half the case and then face upwards on the other half. So no matter how you lay it down, rain will collect in the flange just like gutters on a house. (See photo.) Just pick up a $10 case at a big-box store. It will probably be of better quality.Read full review
