This book was written in 1946 but was updated in 1979, still quit awhile ago. Mr. Hazlitt guides the reader through all of the unintended conciquences of government intervention in business and labor. His discussions of the effects of a mandated minimum wage is playing itself out now in many major metro areas on the west coast this year. The war against personal savings by our current artificialy low interest rates are explained years before they came to pass. Subsidies and bail-outs of industries are analized. Our "Great recession" would not have happened if our leaders had read and heeded these lessons.
