This has to be the most complicated fighting game experience I’ve ever had, other than maybe Dissidia. I like that there are limited pilots, but they are some of my favorites, including Deathscythe. Perhaps it’s my older age, but I definitely get carpal tunnel issues with this game. It’s actually got good graphics, in my opinion, compared to Primal Rage and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I just wish the fighting system was less complicated, so it could feel more effortless. However, I appreciate all games for their own merit. If you’re a fan of the G-Gundam or Gundam Wing series, this is definitely worth playing.

Most fighting games are either so hopelessly complex or exercises in button-mashing that they'll only be enjoyable to a select few. Gundam Battle Assault 2 has the advantage of being able to be played either way. The command inputs are simple, which leads to spamming of some moves, but skilled players can find many different ways to use them too. The major high point is the HUGE selection and variety of mobile suits. They range from the laughable (Ball Gundam) to the ridiculously overpowered (Dark Gundam). No matter which Gundam series you enjoy, you'll find your favorite suits ready to beat the Gundanium out of each other. Street Mode is kind of slim (only eight of the 24 mobile suits have their own storyline, but they're the main characters of their series so it makes sense). The cpu difficulty seems to go all over the place. Some fights can be won with next to no strategy, while others require Sun-Tzu level tactics with a huge amount of luck. Despite the game's age,it's a great value, a lot of fun, a great way to play out those Wing Zero could totally beat the RX-78 Gundam arguments that every fanboy has.Read full review
This game introduces the 2nd installment for the Battle Assault series of Gundam, except the only difference from the previous games are additional mobile suits and levels. Gundam Battle Assault 2 offers plenty of fun to those that love 2D fighting and this game seems very similar to the Street Fighter series, just with Mobile Suits. The only element that is missed here is that they should have had a more plots and story for each character, because once you beat the game, the credits just roll - leaving you with just that or new mobile suits. The mobile suits available here are those that appeared in these series: Mobile Suit Gundam, Char's Counterattack, Gundam 0080, Gundam 0083, and Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. So if you like 2D fighting, get this game before it becomes extremely rare, like the first one.Read full review
Beyond happy with this game, it's a pretty stadard fighting game, but the fact that I can fight with some of my favorite gundams is what makes it great.

This game is fun, really different from other fighting games the downside is that there's not many characters to pick.

Gundam Battle Assault is one of the best mecha games that there is; the graphics are good (if you keep in mind that is for ps1) the controls are really easy and maybe the best feature is the large selection of robots that the game has, if i must recommend it i'll give it a 10.
Disc has a few scratches that affect intro FMV playback but the actual gameplay is unaffected. Case is in great shape and price was decent, thank you!
