I bought this switch for $15 and $15 shipping so for 30 bucks it's awesome. It replaced my multiple desktop gbe switches. I like that it can be rack mounted but the rack ears I recieved aren't long enough for a 19 inch rack but I can remedy that. I like that it has the sfp ports in the event I need to add another switch connected by fiber cable. It sips power currently drawing about 11 watts. It is a little noisy with the 40 mm fan but it isn't designed as a desktop silent switch. Mine lives in my basement. Eventually it will be I stalled in my rack but the wires are terminated in the wrong place for that right now. It's hard to beat for $30. It is also a managed switch though I dont yet possess the skills to utilize those features so for now it is in unmanaged mode.

Item works great as a managed switch with it's web interface. It comes with many features you come to expect out of a managed switch like virtual local area networks and quality of service. However, the switch can mirror/span/monitor a maximum of 4 ports. This is not enough if you want to look at traffic on all ports. Not recommended if you want to connect it to a network monitor to analyze traffic.

An awesome switch for a home or small business environment. This switch is capable one one gigabit per second transfer rates which is quickly becoming dated as multi gigabit internet connections are in reach on millions. My home internet connection is 300mbps so a gigabit switch is fine for my uses. I have two of these switch’s. One is in the house and the other is out in my shed. I ran underground Ethernet out to it. Most of my equipment and servers are in the shed so I don’t have to listen to the fan noise.

My needs grew in my small business for networked devices, and multiple switches became a pain. I bought this used Dell to fix the issue. Although loud, it seems to be doing the job.

This switch is a great value for a HomeLab rack. However, if you are using this in the same room you are working in the fan is LOUD, and I would recommend a passively cooled switch instead as the fan gets loud! However, a 5V (not the 12V, it will not work) Noctua fan of NF-A4X20 fan works in this switch as a replacement, you just need to swap some pins around (the ground and 5V wire are switched I think). However, it still made a slight whine (might just be a me thing), so I just didn't use it However, if you are looking for a cheap Gigabit managed switch, with the ability to go into 'dumb switch's mode this is for you!
