Why AT&T does not supply batteries
This is my second AT&T modem. The first one came with a battery but after few years I was having problems with loss of signal or interruptions in service all due to an old battery. Their newer Pace modem come without batteries. When I installed the new battery the unit worked fine the first day it was installed but on the second day the modem started acting up. So after removing the battery and doing a reset back in operation with on further problem. After doing some further research the only purpose fir the battery is as a backup for a telephone land line only in the case of a power outage. Now if I had known that or if I had done the research earlier I wouldn't have placed the order.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
