I have previously owned this model for 9years and found it excellent value. The hdd part still works on it but the dvd isn't working. I saw this one on ebay with a 12mth warranty + as it's no longer available new I bought it and I'm extremely pleased with it. It looks and performs like new. It came well packed and very quickly. Flexible piece of kit
If, like me, you have more than one source of television programmes (Satellite, Cable and terrestrial) this recorder allows one to selectively record from any one of them, watch something else while recording and, with the correct configuration, watch from a different source also while recording. Interruptions are not a problem as pressing the 'timeshift' button followed by 'pause', watching the programme can be resumed as soon as the interruption has gone away with the added bonus of being able to skip the annoying adverts. Good unit, cant buy anything like it now!
Been trying to find a replacement for my LG RHT 496 which has failed for some time. Idiot manufacturers seem to have removed a vital specification from the only DVD recorders made now - Input from external source which makes it impossible to record from a camcorder or Sky box.
