  • Rookie gets the job done with this welder

I am a rookie welder ... never welded before. My training has been YouTube videos. I practiced using residential 110V power. With my practice welds, I had some difficult with 6011 (3/32 & 1/8) rods, but 7018s ran smooth and I eventually had some success with the 6011s. My reason for purchasing was a farm tractor repair and I had to run the welder from a 4000 / 3500 watt, 110V generator. I had a very difficult time keeping an arc on the 6011 rods, but was able to complete the project using 7018s. I believe my problem with the 6011s was ground related or an under-powered generator, or both. This welder got the job done, although I have no prior welding experience to compare it to. Happy with purchase.

  • Initially, great,,,,, still new,, will review again after use.

Tried it out of the box,, and on 120v and it ran a bead using 7018, very good. welded 3/16" for about 6" and the little welder did great. Going to take it along for repairs on equipment and will review again after a few jobs. So far everything looks good, and it came complete with A/C 220/ 120 adapter and cables. The digital read-out seams looks clear and relatively accurate.
