I did not know anything about these scanners. I researched on line and on eBay and made the decision to purchase one for semi-pro work, saving old film and slides (35mm only) and use my iMac. I got a great item hardly used, but it took some time to setup the SilverFast software. It was not the product's fault, but a matter of reading and understanding well the instructions. Once setup, I am very pleased with the settings, quality, speed of scans and ease of use. I highly recommend it over expensive options. I am a photographer, a professional printing scientist and color technologist. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Enjoy
Easy to set-up and use. I have many slides from the 50's and 60's. All midpriced scanners are somewhat slow but the results are worth the wait. I would definitely buy this Plustek 7400 scanner again.
