Quality over quantity Fowler
These snap gauges are good for the money but I highly recommend that before even testing the action that you disassemble every one of them to clean out all of the leftover chips from milling. I was highly disappointed when right out of the box the action was crunchy and not smooth at all. I immediately disassembled all of them and Fowler could do better by simply adding a good thorough cleaning to their process. After doing some cleaning and adding some good old Starrett instrument oil they are quite good. I'm not saying they are Starrett or even Mitutoyo quality but the bang is there for the buck. I will be purchasing a higher quality set in the future but if you need something to get through a job on a budget I think these could be an option.
