A Billiant Product- possibly superior to the original part
The Arnott A2869 is a brilliant product, and a vast improvement on the earlier Arnott front air springs I had in my 2001 Audi Allroad. These are likely to last longer than the 6 years I got out of the previous ones which developed a leak due to deterioration of the rubber bladder. ( Rubber perished!). The quality of the New Arnott A2869 air springs is a massive step forward in the development of this aftermarket part, in its use of unique materials ( Fibreglass reinforced nylon top and piston, and machined polished alloy base) . The use of high quality Continental Contitech manufactured EPDM synthetic rubber air spring bladders makes this air spring equivalent, if not far superior ,to the original Audi part. The rubber has superior heat and solvent resistance giving potential long life . A fitting kit is included with high tensile hex head bolts to replace the odd ball factory 10 spline ZXN cap bolts that hold the cap of the air spring housing with the two upper suspension arms, which are far easier to torque to 23Nm. The kit also has a new upper o-ring and shock absorber rubber top . A comprehensive guide for fitting the air spring is available on the Arnott website as part of the product listing for this spring ,or on YouTube. Special note is included with the air spring in the box about making sure about the pressure air feed line on the car being securely seated in the Voss fitting at the top of the spring . The installation is only as good as the cleanliness and care taken, not rushing, and making sure the o-rings are lubed with lithium or silicone grease. Overall, an impressive product which in it lastest form would make the original designers of the air spring question why they didn't do it that way. These springs have improved the ride in my car no end as they are slightly firmer than the first Arnott ones I had and almost the same as the original Audi factory ones.
