As anyone who's ever heard this music knows, this is not a great recording to begin with. The music itself is, needless to say, incredible, so it's understandable that fans should get excited each time a "new" version is released. This SHM was recommended on various forums and, compared to my MFSL Gold disc, which advocates of the SHM have described as "cloudy", the SHM is noticeably brighter, overall. I have quite a warm sounding system and I still have to use my Schiit Loki EQ to tame the abrasive highs. Once that's done, the lower mids are just as "cloudy' as those on the MFSL. I definitely find the MFSL to be more organic sounding. This is only my second SHM disc. The first one I bought was also very bright, so I don't imagine I'll be buying any more of these.
