this mint ipod looks as if it is brand new just out of the box. the sound could not be any crisper. battery life? well,let me tell you, this ipod plays on and on. I received it with many, many fantastic songs and a mint carrying case. totally unexpected. I can't say enough. I love it!!! thanks, Jim

The problem is the annonce say bad battery but it was not only a bad battery but also a bad hhd so i have to change everythings to get a brend new one. The procedure to change the hhd and baterry are quite easy but coast some monay. But at the end you get a brand new ipod 4th generation who at my eye the best music player in the world.

I have a newer 2GB mp3 player but it was small and used a toggle switch/joystick controller. I have arthritis in my fingers and it was awkward to use it. My daughter has an ipod and it is much easier to use than the one I already had. I opted for a refurbished 4th generation ipod because of price and because I only wanted audio. Don't need video. Also, it has a ton of space. So, far I am quite happy with this 4th gen ipod. It is easy to use and does not make my fingers and thumbs hurt. It has a ton of space, which makes me very happy. The sound quality is not quite as good as my newer mp3 player, but I am willing to sacrifice that for the ease of use. Win-win for me.
I am very happy with this Ipod and got it at a very fair price. It was clean and well taken care of and works great. I have a Shuffle and the difference between 1GB and 40GB is amazing when it comes to loading songs. I have loaded all 5 of the playlists I used for my Shuffle and can load many more. I cannot imagine ever playing all this music at one time. The only complaint I have is that the 4th generation is slightly thicker and heavier than the newer models but not much. As for a color screen vs the black and white I would rather save the money and use the black and white. I do need color LCD and a album cover for every selection the name of the band and track is enough. I wanted this Ipod for music only so video is not important to me. Besides the small screen is a joke for anyone over 40. My kids say they like the color screen and the size of theirs better but I do not carry this everywhere I go so size does not make that much difference. I still use my shuffle for the beach or where less than 12 hours of music is used but when I travel I now take my Classic with a set of monitor speakers for the hotel and headphones for when I tune everything out. After having and using a Shuffle for a while this Ipod Classic 40GB is a huge step forward and I am happy with it and glad that I won the auction. It is a keeper and so is my little Shuffle.
