I have an ipod shuffle for a couple of weeks and I must admit that is a great music player, the sound quality is pretty good for such a small device. Also the battery lifetime is very good (12 hours).The Ipod Shuffle it`s quite easy to use, you just copy your music on it using itunes and you`re ready to go. what I don`t like is that it doesn`t have a display, you can`t "fav" songs, you can`t make playlists. but, it`s okay, the lack of all these features is balanced by the small size and great lifetime for the battery. It`s a great when you go out for a short walk or joking you just copy an album or two on it and you`re ready to go. 1GB is more than enough for Ipod shuffle. you just don`t need more. I wouldn`t recommend for long and boring travels. Because it has no display and this makes it very hard to play a specific song you like or, skip to another album.Read full review
I saw a friend with one and became intrigued. After buying and setting up my iPod Shuffle, I was convinced that many folks out there would love one. This is a really nice music player for an affordable price. Has 1GB memory which can hold up to 240 mp3 songs (180 more practically). Good Quality sound (with included ear phones) and very simple to use (big plus). Plug and Play setup on your computer and, with free available software on the internet, you can manage your music without iTunes. It comes with a usb docking station/charger, but you can also purchase (separately) an inexpensive wall charger (great for those not near a computer). Battery life is reported at approximately 12 hours with a full charge (approximately 4 hrs via usb). The Shuffle is very small (about 1 inch by 1 1/4 inch) with a built in clip. Tunes can be played in order or shuffled. The only drawback to this music player is that you cannot select individual songs to play but, for many, that's no big deal. All in all, makes a really nice gift or personal player (especially for working out). You'll love the colors!Read full review
I recently bought a iPod shuffle. After owning a regular 80GB iPod, I doubtful that it could compare to it, however, I was proven wrong. I paid 40.00 USD with free shipping. But you can obtain them for 30-35 range if you put in the time and effort. I liked the fact that it was very small and has the built-in clip. On the normal iPod, you have to buy armbands if you wanna take it running or exercising. And of course, you can skip tracks if you want to. The only draw is no video but you know when you buy a shuffle and its offset by the dramatic price difference. In my opinion, the shuffle is an exercise aid, those people who like to keep things interesting with the Autofill feature, and who are happy to listening to anything randomly.
The 1st Gen Shuffle is just awkward. An oversized thumb drive. Ugly really. The 3rd Gen Shuffle is sweet, if your into secret box type gadgets. It flopped because voice over control only was a learning curve not many people could even begin to tackle. The 4th Gen Shuffle improved on the Voice Control feature by bringing back the "click-wheel" but unfortunately in the ever expanding desire to go smaller, Apple failed with a design that is hard to "clip" on without pressing the "click-wheel". Same design flaw carries over the the waterproof version. That's what makes the 2nd Gen the best. Easy load of playlist(s) from iTunes. Manual control "click-wheel" without the hocus pocus of "Voice Control" and size and design that works perfect with the "clip" feature and "Click-wheel" in unison. Unlike another review mistakenly asserted, this Shuffle does have a power slider to turn the Shuffle off and preserve battery. The dock is not cumbersome, it is brilliant. Like the most impressive Apple docks, it is built specifically to hold, display, sync and charge the Shuffle without having to toss it randomly somewhere to get scratched up, marred, buried, smashed or lost in some way. Further, if you are into Apple color on devices, this 2nd Generation Shuffle offers the most options. Gold, Silver, Dark Red, Light Red, Pink, Orange, Green, Light Green, Blue, Light Blue, Purple (not official color names, but you get the idea). Lastly, this is also one of the Shuffles that Apple specifically fashioned recovery software for. When iTunes fails to recognize it, often the software can. I've picked up a few of these for pennies, claimed to be "dead", only to recover them and use them extensively. I grab playlists for on-the-go by color of Ipod. Its fast, easy and down right sexy. Displayed together, it's a formidable army of perfect fashionable Apple icons carrying a remarkable amount of music. Paired with vintage "Monster" or new Apple "Beats" headphone (I recommend Studio), you won't believe the awesome sound definition, deep base and full body tone this tiny gadget can provide.Read full review

Never sure when buying something used. I really needed to replace my old one which died after years of hard use. The product itself can't be beat. This used version was ok...still was loaded with somebody's gajillion tunes! I hit the reset button and was good to go, although it doesn't hold a charge as long as it would have if it were new. Also... you'd need a very specific charger, lucky i still had my old one. But, great price for a hard to find item!
