Long Forgotten Recipes
This cookbook exceeded my expectations. I had searched high and low for an affordable copy for a little over a year. If you're familiar with the term "low country" then this cookbook will bless you. It has lots of plantation recipes. Hard to find traditional southern seafood recipes are also in this book. If you love those timeless dishes then invest in a copy of this book.

Old Southern Recipes
Although this cookbook was published in 1950, most of the recipes are much older, and a few were passed down from Civil War days. Excellent recipes!!! My mother had this cookbook, and since buying this copy, I can't stop trying the recipes. I've tried 7 so far, and my family raved about all of them. The Creamed Stuffed Eggs with Mushroom Sauce is one of the best things I've ever tasted! And be sure to make the wonderful Bakewell Tart to enjoy with afternoon tea. This was written before the days of artificial ingredients, low fat dishes, etc. This is real food, with cream, butter, lard, garden fresh produce, and a large variety of meats. Food that tastes the way it should, the way you remember from long ago. Not only is it a wealth of truly good recipes, but it's fascinating to read! Entertaining and informative. A peek into life long ago. Great for any cook. Great to give as a gift.

Wonderful cookbook
I have an older version of this cookbook that is fragile from having been well loved over many years. I loved the recipes though and wanted to have a copy I could thumb through without worrying about damaging it. This book fit the bill! Near perfect condition!
