It's a book worth reading
It's mostly an excellent book. There are some parts I find tedious. It's almost like it was written by 2 people. At time the words will flow. Interesting and exciting but then later on, the words becomes choppy, wordy, boring and hard to follow. BUT...I still love the book and Caleb Carr's attention to detail. Showing how forensics "might" have started and where, the story, although gruesome in some areas dealing with the murders, is compelling and the historic background is extremely well documented. I am a mystery lover. This is a book of great full noted players, a setting in the 1800’s, and murder oh so wicked. I found myself learning more about the people involved and a connection on the way they move toward the knowledge of the killer. I want everyone to read this book.
