Ford F350 OBS body style 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel, TYC starter #1-06669 Starter Conversion
This TYC starter #1-06669 is normally used on 2000 through 2003 Ford 7.3 Powerstoke Diesel, I wanted to get away from the original planetary gear reduction and switch to the offset type for the later model. The TYC starter #1-06669 was a direct fit to the older engine, the only modification required was to ream the ring terminal of the small wire to the solenoid, the TYC starter #1-06669 is a 2 bolt mount vs 3 of the original, the unused 3rd bolt was screwed in place to keep the bolt hole clean. In use this starter is very impressive, it whips the 7.3 diesel over like an anemic 4 cylinder, in the process the engine jumps to life almost instantly. In closing I am very satisfied with this starter, while it has been only a short time for me to use it in my truck I feel it was a very worthwhile purchase, I would suggest this to anyone as an improvement at a very reasonable cost compared to rebuilt or a new original type replacement part, fit, finish, performance and overall quality appears to be top notch.

Great starter bolted right up.The only thing I had to do is ream the terminal ring on the small wire to the solenoid other than that it fit great I am very satisfied.

96 Powerstroke
Bolt on for a ‘96 Powerstroke. Ream out the small wire on the truck a little and place the third bolt back in it’s hole to keep gunk out and the truck starts right up.
