The Pilot Sport Cup 2 is an ultra high-performance tire designed for use in the warmer months, it is is built for use on sport and supercars and offers drivers excellent braking and handling along with a long lifespan. However, they are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. The Pilot Sport Cup 2's tread molds Michelin's Bi-Compound technology into an asymmetric design. Even in wet conditions, the Pilot Sport Cup 2 goes faster by wet track 1.2 seconds per lap, 20 % deeper tread depth making it possible than previous models for quick draining capabilities. Reinforced external shoulder, for extra tread wear resistance.
