Nice packaging. This DVD set covers the history of the Federation’s dealings with the infamous Borg spanning from the recent Enterprise TV series with "Regeneration" following through the Next Generation series ending finally with Voyager in "Endgame." Next Generation’s "Locutus of Borg" is here as well as the gorgeous female human/Borg character of "7 of 9" featured in the Voyager series. Should I buy this you might ask? My answer is: "I am Locutus, of Borg. Resistance is futile. Your life as it has been is over." This set is a must for fans. Now if only they can come up with a series focused on 7 of 9 in the USA like they did in the UK using DVD instead of VHS?
if you love the Borg you will want to add this to your star trek collection

I like Star Trek. I've watched it in one form or another since it first aired on NBC back in the mid-1960's. I used to watch it, lying on the floor in front of our Color TV console with my mother [who was a giant Sci-Fi fan - at the time]. Some episodes are good, some great, some not so good, some a little-bit 'preachy'. The 1960's were like that. But the show, as a whole was ground-breaking television which has evolved into a sub-culture that has really gone main-stream since the year 2000. As far as episodes go, I always enjoyed the Time-Travel episodes. I also liked the Alternate Realities episodes [although I never really grouped them together like that until Deep-Space 9 had it's flirtation with the Mirror Universe. Over the years, with Next Generation, I enjoyed the various episodes with Q. I really liked "Tapestry" - showing what Jean-Luc Picard's life would have been if he had not been so 'impetuous' in his young Academy Day [when he lost his Heart fighting Norsican's]. I addition to Q episodes, I also grew to enjoy the "Deeply Klingon" episodes. I tried to group Together "Yesterday's Enterprise" with "Klingon Civil War" [Tasha Yar's Daughter - Sela] episodes as well as other Klingon episodes onto 1 8-hour VHS tape [but it took time for the episodes to be on your cable channels and for you to remember to tape them.. that was then. Now you have Sets being groups [across the spectrum of series] into catagories that "mirror" my own [and alot of other Trekkers] tastes. The Borg set is absolutely needed to completed one's study of "the Borg". The set is put-together in 'time-line historical order' - which is great. So, the Enterprise episode which shows the un-earthing of the crashed Borg ship in the Arctic was an excellent choise as the opening episode. It really ties together the movie "First Contact" with the retro series "Enterprise" as a bridge to the futre and TOS, Next Gen, Deep-space-9, and Voyager. I was always eager to see an episode, if the Borg were on it. They made great villains [scary and powerful]. Sincerely, Jim Madden Full-time trekRead full review
This collection of episodes about the villain aliens The Borg are very good and entertaining. I would recommend this, and I got a good deal.

I received the Star Trek Fan Collective Borg episodes as a Birthday gift last week. All I can say is wow! The great thing about this collection is that you don't have to go through all the different sets of series to find one single favorite Borg episode. The Commentaries are great and I love how they are chronologically arranged. I am a major Star Trek fan and even more of a Borg fan, so it is very special for me to be able to pop in the Fan Collective when I want to watch it. There are four more collectives that fans have chosen, Q, Klingon..... Birthdays, Christmas......
As to Star Trek: Fan Collective—Borg: if you are a casual fan of the show, and you don't want to shell out for full series sets, this is probably the one Star Trek box worth adding to your collection. There is plenty of action, and most of these episodes are surprisingly entertaining. Looking ahead at the upcoming "Fan Collective" releases though, I have some serious reservations about how much recycling Paramount plans to do among these boxed sets. If this is really for the fans, how much patience does Paramount think the fans have with paying for "Endgame" again in the "Time Travel" collection?
I hope that when contact with an alien species is finally made that those creatures do not in any way resemble "The Borg" from the venerable "Star Trek" franchise. This is an excellent collection. I loved seeing again the Next Generation episodes, especially "The Best of Both Worlds," espisodes the "Voyager" shows are good but they just did not have the impact as the Next Generation ones.
