Only had the Genius1 a short time. It is very easy to set up - the biggest challenge is to correctly identify the type of battery you are connecting the Genius1 to. After that, it runs automatically. I have observed the indicator lights changing at vairous times to tell me that the battery is charged or the Genius1 is conditioning the battery. As long as you don't need a rapid charger, this device gets the job done at an affordable price.

old timey 'trickle chargers' can (will) dry out the electrolyte in a car type battery, this one turns itself off, and does such things as de-sulfide. I use it to keep batteries up on seasonal tools such as lawn tractors when storing over winter. also there is one of the same brand that charges a small 12v battery that runs an old car radio in the garage. the battery was old, removed from service and not very good, but on this charger the radio/battery has worked well for years, so a couple more came home to keep batteries up on vehicles that don't get driven much, such as collector cars.

Based on the reliability and function of two previously purchased Genius 1 chargers, when another brand burned out, I immediately purchased my third Genius 1 for equipment in our barn. I also have a Genius 2x2 keeping the emergency generator ready as well as a spare battery. (the first two NOCO's had replaced short-lived other brand chargers)

This unit works great! I had the other brand battery tender and it cooked my smaller equipment batteries. This unit is well made and easy to use.

The unit is very different than the Battery Tender Jr that I am used to. Directions are not really clear so there is some guesswork concerning when it stops conditioning and moves to maintenance. The in-line connection is kind of flimsy which seems to be a common complaint. I would be on the fence about buying another right now. Let’s see how it works out.

Good quality .....although you can get the same Smart Battery Charger model and brand if you look for a while for about 25 to 26 dollars but for what I payed is about average and still a good price and I am very comfortable with it....Works good.

I have the Genius1 and also the Genius5 chargers. Both work well and actually do what they say. They charge, float and maintain batteries well. The Genius5 has a battery recondition function (wet cell only) that actually seems to work. I have brought a couple of dead batteries back to life that 2 other so-called "recondition" chargers failed to do. They will charge wet cell, gel, AGM and lithium batteries, ( also 6v lead acid) but you have to select the battery type manually, by toggling through the selections. Getting it into the recondition or 6v mode is a little tricky, you have to hold down the button while toggling. Just keep doing that until the "repair" or "6v" indicator light comes on. I have had bad experiences with other "float" chargers over charging and cooking the batteries. I check the voltage of the charger with a multi-meter during all the charge cycles and it is right where it should be all the time. For instance, the float voltage for my AGM batteries is 13.8v as specified by the battery manufacturer. I just put batteries on the charger, set it and forget it for days, weeks or months. Life is good. My only very minor complaints are: they use a proprietary connector on the cable instead of the good old standard SAE one the rest of the world uses, so all my cables will not work with it without modifacation. I have since removed their connectors and replaced with SAE. The Genius 1 is a wall box instead of an inline unit, so it is difficult to plug into an outdoor weather box without an adapter or extension cord. Read full review

I have several vehicles that I store each (Michigan) winter and have tried most if not all of the other "smart" chargers on the market. It has been frustrating to have batteries die while on those chargers, leaving me to question their advertised performance. This time, a Delco battery in my Corvette, just barely out of warranty, was full green one day and blinking green (trying to charge) the next day before it got so low it would not allow the (electronic) doors, and therefore the hood, to open. Eventually, using my 10 amp (non smart) charger the battery would take a charge, then fully discharge (even though out of the car) in about an hour. With a $150 battery replacement the only solution I thought I would try the Noco1. It took about 2 days for the Noco to go from pulsing red (never indicated a battery fault) to pulsing green, and another 8 hrs to go to steady green. I then unhooked the battery, reinstalled it, and purposely left the charger off overnight. The next morning the car was fully functional (electrically) and when I re hooked up the Noco it went from pulsing green to full green in about 2 hrs. 3 weeks later it sometimes pulses green but then goes full green shortly after, and stays fully charaged. THIS PRODUCT WORKS AS ADVERTISED. (I then bought 3 more Noco1's and a Noco10 replacing the "junk" I had been trusting)Read full review

Well packaged and appears to be of good quality. I have only had it about two weeks but it is connected to my AGM battery and has brought it up to full charge and appears to be keeping it there.

Works on my small farm tractor. Awesome set up. I like it better than the original.
