Many people don't know that KMC is the OEM for Shimano chains. I like the KMC magic link because its reusable. Its better than Shimano's pin system for ease of use and durability. Sram's "missing link" can not be removed once put on with the 10 spd and 11 spd chains. A few years ago I thought I bought a 10 speed crank but it was actually a 9 speed. So for about a year I was using 10 chains with a 9 speed crank... Shimano and Sram chains would break after about 6 to 8 weeks of regular use. That's when I tried KMC and the chain never broke despite being mismatched. Thats how I discovered that they are stronger. I have replaced the crank (3 yrs ago) so that they are matched properly and the chain is light, strong and is something I just put on and forget about.

This is a lightweight and solid chain for both road and Mtb. I race MTB with KMC exclusively and have had no issues. Chain cleans well and its lightweight helps me keep my hard tail at 20#. For the road bike, it is really nice that it is compatible with Campy components. Less expensive and comparable weight to record chain. I did have a chain break but that was after 1,000s of miles. I just ordered another KMC replacement. Since 2012, road biking on Campy and Mtbing hard tail and full squish on SRAM. Three regional championships, two state championships, a third place regional and a 4th place state. That's a lot of training and racing. One broken chain. I believe in this KMC chain.

I commute year round in Ann Arbor, Michigan, train on gravel roads and compete in a few gravel races a year. I buy this chain once a year in the Spring. Averaging about 50 miles per week, there's usually enough wear left after racing spring and summer to make it through the winter! I clean it in a sonicator with Simple Green about once every 2 months. Lube with Phil's Bio-Lube!

Running on X9 and it shifts perfectly. Had to remove 4 links so it would fit on my Specialized 29er, but it was simple and it's better to be too long than too short. Plus, now I have extra links for any repairs. Will buy again.

Super awesome chain! I use KMC chains on all my bikes. They hold up very well and the master link makes installing a breeze. I will say the "silver" tone on this particular chain looks a bit more goldish up against the rear cassette. Overall, you can't go wrong with KMC chains and this one is pretty light too.

I use this chain with a mixture of 10sp (cassette) and 11sp (crank) parts and it works great. Shifting is smooth and reliable. Chain life is similar to Shimano chains.

This is a great chain if you're looking to save weight. It's lightweight, yet strong enough for all the mountain bike trails I take it on. Nice smooth shifting too.
